Should the US sell arms to Taiwan?

BBC新聞網上開放的意見欄已衝爆兩千四百多封了，證明美國對台軍售這件頭條新聞在國際間很令人重視。稍看過一些留言，大致都是支持台灣，請中國不要管別人家的事；有些則是覺得若不是中國態度強硬，台灣也不需要這麼保護自己。讀到會心一笑的一則回應【只有一個中國】：對，是只有一個中國，但不在台灣。

There is a deep rooted historical cause to the emotions between China and Taiwan. Despite gestures of goodwill and new policies that aid the improvement of relations; the threats continue to exist in a very real way. The Taiwanese people have no way of "trusting" the intention of the Chinese and are therefore forced to protect itself by its own means. The Chinese had in the past reacted the same way to any country shown support to Taiwan, this would not be the last attempt to isolate the island.
